Power cable is used to transmit and distribute high power electricity in power system. For example, common low-voltage cables with rated operating voltage lower than 1000V, medium-voltage cables with rated operating voltage between 3.6/6 and 26/35kV, and high-voltage cables with rated operating voltage higher than 110kV. Overhead transmission lines often use bare wire to save the cost of insulation materials, such as stranded wire (steel core aluminum stranded wire, aluminum stranded wire, aluminum clad steel stranded wire, aluminum alloy stranded wire), soft wiring, profile and so on.
